Today I received a great gift. Through one of the blogs that I follow, I had the opportunity to watch the video below and learn about it through Nick Vujicic:

Siege of Ennis
After describing the three basic steps necessary to dance the Siege of Ennis, it is time to explain how they should be united. I know, I know, it's been a long time ... I also, unfortunately, I was forced to take a break from the course. If you need a ripassino you can always look at the following posts:

But let us now. The Siege of Ennis is a dance that ideally describes a siege. According to information I received from my teacher, the sequence of steps is the approach the city walls, the attempt to go beyond the walls and the duel.
Let's see them in order, starting from the starting position. We have as a set consisting of two rows of four (two pairs per line) facing each other. The members of each pair are held by the hand inside the cup itself, intertwining the top. The woman is the right man. The free arm is always stretched out along the side.
1. Two skip forward, starting with the right foot, two skip back.
2. As the first point.
3. Lateral displacement: the couple who is on the right moves to the left, past the couple who had the side; the same time the pair left door on the right, passing behind the other couple. The shift is done using the side step closed by rising step.
4. Lateral displacement: as point 3, with this further shift the couple returned to each place.
5. Duel: people who are in the external position in the set are close with and skip right on the second beat of the music go hand in hand side, cross on top and keeping your elbows bent, and rotate clockwise to four times, always with skip step, the fourth time you leave and reverse around the left hand shaking. The four people who are on the inside of the set do the same thing, forming a group to the center. The women put their hands over those of men. After completing the two laps each returns to its posto.
6. Oltrepassamento delle mura: le coppie si avvicinano di nuovo con due skip (partendo sempre con il destro) e si allontanano con due skip all’indietro. A questo punto le coppie si incrociano con quattro skip avanti: le coppie che stanno dalla parte dei musicisti si danno la mano e alzano le braccia a formare degli archi, le altre coppie oltrepasseranno gli archi passando alla destra della persona che hanno di fronte. In questo modo ogni riga scalerà di una posizione e si formeranno nuovi set.
Attenzione: la riga che arriva in fondo e non trova un’altra riga di persone di fronte a sé rimane in pausa per un’intera sequenza. I componenti delle coppie si scambiano di posto, per cui nella sequenza seguente chi si trovava outside the set is inside and vice versa.

I brought home with me this prayer to return from my trip to Ireland last summer, a trip that I have much to thank. I would like to celebrate as the feast of St. Patrick, as well as with rivers of beer.

Teachers on Facebook: yes or no?

La domanda è arrivata ieri pomeriggio da un’amica insegnante in un liceo. La mia risposta è stata: “E’ uno strumento, nulla di più nulla di meno. Ha delle funzioni utili e permette di fare anche una serie infinita di stupidaggini. Puoi farne un uso intelligente o perderci tempo. Dipende. Io ho un mio profilo e sono passata dal chiedermi a cosa servisse, alla sorpresa di trovarci tanta gente, ad un’esplorazione smodata e, forse, adesso ad un uso più sensato, funzionale ad alcune mie attività.”
Credo che la mia posizione le sia piaciuta. Non ho tardato a scoprire quali erano i reali motivi della sua richiesta, anche perché I had the opportunity to think together with another friend, also a teacher. His bafflement about Facebook was not born on the specific characteristics of the instrument itself, but use it to make some of his colleagues, guilty in his opinion, to get to ape their students. Also a profile on Facebook and its use may be a way to set an example.
Articles alarmed and alarming when you highlight the destructive potential of social networking make me laugh frankly. And I wonder: the ability to judge people where is? It 'been sucked into cyberspace? Or never existed? If a technology is able to control myself I do not think the problem lies in the technology, if anything, in my weakness. The real trouble with boys is not the Internet, is the fact that you have in front of him or not young adults and adults really, credible witnesses to a way of being interesting, beautiful, satisfying, people walking with pros and cons, aware of their and limits of its resources and constantly strive to improve themselves and the rest of the world, even through Facebook.
