In recent years, Italian politics and journalism are all rotated around a big lie: the false belief that Silvio Berlusconi and Berlusconi were the majority in the country. The numbers, indeed, have always said the opposite. Even when Berlusconi was at the height of its power (the 2008 election) has ever been able to collect 51 percent of the vote. Well, they were wrong. Italy was (and is) another thing. Italians - both right and left - are a majority in extraordinary people. Made of women and men who kill themselves (when we have work). Who engage in nearly 500,000 volunteer organizations. Going abroad (4 million) to be able to do what is impossible at home. This is not (only) the country of the world's most powerful mafia groups, the most corrupt politicians of Western Europe. This is, however, the country Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino Francesca Morvillo, anti-racketeering associations of Confindustria in Sicily and traders say no to lace. It is the country of George Ambrosoli, Libero Grassi, Peppino Impastato, journalists threatened in Calabria, the police who are paid by yourself gasoline for their cars, public employees who bring their home computers to run their offices, the workers occupying the factories and climb on the roofs just asking to be working.
Italy, in short, is much better than those in the Government and the Parliament is undeserved. And this Sunday in February, thanks to women, are starting to notice. Never before had seen such massive demonstrations organized by non-parties, but by the people. Hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets not as a moral lesson, but for dignity. Without hate, without violence, said the big lie that they are no longer there.
Berlusconi as well, thanks to the sale Members, have a majority to both Houses, it is increasingly a minority in the country. As illustrated by the various events organized by the flop of the PDL, even among those who voted the Knight is now difficult to find anyone willing to spend on him. The King, not only metaphorically, is naked. Needless to delude ourselves, however. The prime minister did not resign. He will not now. To force him to leave it will take many more 13 February, many other places, and finally a clear call for early elections. Only in this way in Parliament who campaigning alongside Berlusconi not out of loyalty but out of interest - dare calculations.
